Rāmax has developed many proprietary solutions within the area of covert video surveillance. Rāmax was founded to address a very serious issue in the retail automotive industry - How to determine which employees were stealing items from customer vehicles. It was determined that a color video camera could be covertly installed in a vehicles which was "salted" with items commonly stolen by company and contract employees. This solution has proved over time to be very effective in documenting employee theft from customer vehicles.
After analysis of the results, it has been determined that theft occurred in approximately 25 to 33 percent of the vehicles taken to automotive dealerships for repairs and/or routine maintenance. In the instances which a theft occurred, documentation was obtained including the date and time, items stolen and positive identification of the employee involved. Contact with law enforcement confirmed that the exceptional video quality allows for prosecution if the dealer management decides to press charges.
